SYNOPSIS
The sound of metal groans, on the verge of breaking. An old flatbed truck, retrofitted to carry passengers, crosses the desert of La Guajira in Colombia. On the wind, voices arrive—blending among those who ride. A Wayúu woman returns to her homeland, accompanied by her family, after years of exile caused by a paramilitary massacre. Carropasajero is a cyclical journey, where layers of time in the territory touch one another and the boundary between the living and the dead begins to blur. Why didn’t you wake me when my soul was leaving?
